This article is for you iPhone 4 users thinking of upgrading to the iPhone 4s. Should you go ahead with the move?
Here are some reasons why you SHOULD STAY with the iPhone 4:
1. There are more similarities between the 2 phones than there are differences. There are no major updates to the design. Well, there are 2 – Better camera and a dual core processor but are they worth the upgrade?
2. The increased in downlink speed of 14.4 Mbps of the 4s is only available with certain carriers such as AT&T (for now). So if you’re not an AT&T customer, you won’t be able to experience this downlink speed increase.
3. The iPhone 4s rear camera resolution is 8 megapixel versus 5 megapixel for the iPhone 4. The front camera for both models remains at 0.3 megapixel. For the normal users, 5 megapixel is more than enough. To compete with the pro cameras out there, we were expecting at least 12 megapixel. Hopefully this will be included in the iPhone 5.
4. Access to iCloud with iPhone 4s. Some uniformed vendors (as a tactic to sell the iPhone 4s) are touting that only the iPhone 4s can access Apple’s iCloud. This is not true. The iPhone 4 can also access iCloud as long as you upgrade to iOS 5. We updated our iPhone 4 to iOS 5 and one of the configuration screens ask if you want to join iCloud.
iPhone 4s or not?
We at Tablets Computer recommend that you hold off on upgrading or purchasing the iPhone 4s for now. Most people will probably not heed this recommendation as sales of the 4s are flying off the shelves. Some of the reasons of the huge sales of the iPhone 4s could be due to the passing of Steve Jobs and this is his last product. People are paying homage to Steve buy purchasing the iPhone 4s. Some people even say that the “4s” is “for Steve”.
We recommend that you wait for the iPhone 5 which is due out in 2012. We also recommend that you go with tablets. Keep the iPhone 4 or other smart phones and get one of the many tablets out there. Using the iPhone 4 or any other smart phones out there for any extended period of time can be tiring for the eyes.
